The book does not clearly instruct how to play the oud, methodically and correctly. I wish that the author wrote a method book more clearly.
Don't let the size of this book fool you, it's ALOT of good info and decent workout for starters, and decent players. Download the audio clips they're essential and really helpful. I GUARANTEE it has over 1 year worth of materials to master and learn from
The book is concise and as described. I can recommend this book to any oud player.

Not just instruction in three makams, but a great introduction to the Turkish repertoire and its composers, with helpful transitional exercises by the author. A lot packed into just a few pages, with audio files of all etudes and pieces.
It's a great little book, with fantastic sheet music that really helps you progress. I wouldn't recommend it for people who are complete beginners and have never played a string instrument before, however, as it doesn't go into left or right hand basics. I would pick it up once you have acquired a basic foundation you want to build on.
