Mr. Johnson should have stayed in Augusta and gone fishing there. My Grandfather was the Superintendent/Game Warden of Stephen Foster State Park, from the late 50' to the early 60's and as a young boy,I stayed with them in the summers at the park. Needless to say, I made many a run/ fishing trip to Billie's Lake, Minnie's Lake, Big Water, and any where else in the swamp a boat would go. I love to read anything about one of the most beautiful spots on earth. However, this attempt left me cold and confused. Other than a few attempts at local color, this book made no sense, what so ever. I applaud Mr. Johnson's attempt at writing, but I would suggest he take a few more literature classes and stick to writing about something with which he's familiar.

Driving about the 1960's South, road trip in a V8 Chrysler Imperial,
sock'n up "Suthrun" color, pass'n thru "Loo-uh-vuhl" wet with anticipations and memories.
A Northerner, never lived in the South, yet for me, a welcome memory trip,
so full of rusty, dirty colors, off smells of dilapidation, history lingering everywhere.
"Anticipation before, then memory afterwards, both prolonging pleasures..."
