While only half way through this book, I have to say that it really delivers. The action is fast paced, yet the detail of events is thorough enough so that you aren't ever in question of what's going on. The characters are realistic and easy to get attached to. I find myself clinging to my Kindle while reading, wondering what the next page or chapter will bring. Well written and well edited, this is a great first book from this author.Product details

I gave this 5 stars because it was very well written and very suspenseful. Once I started reading it was very hard to put down. I loved getting to know the characters of the book and hope there will be a sequel and soon! It has so many twists and turns it was hard to figure out what was going to happen next. I usually am not a big reader and enjoy movies more but I was excited every time I picked up the book to see what was next. This book would be an awesome movie!
The action is a bit slow in this book. Story good tho - especially if you know Honduras.
The plot was very intriguing. Horton 's use of the phases of the moon during the unfolding of the (literal) plot was a wonderful use of metaphor. As one who has served in short term missions in Honduras, and specifically Tegucigalpa, I enjoyed the familiarity of the setting.
Personally, I wanted more character development- especially personality and family background. I wanted to know more about what drove the main characters to do what they did beyond politics.
The message of the love of God, country and people overcoming the worst of evil is indeed celebrated in this narrative.
Prather untangles his plot slowly and deliberately and he ties up loose ends well. His major characters lack the depth of development necessary to making the reader care about them. The ending is not credible. A good read that had unrealized potential.
But still, compelling and well written.

This book has you right on the edge of your seat. This is the first book I have read by Horton Prather and I hope there are many more to come. I could not put the book down. It has twist and turns in every chapter. I highly recommend this mystery book to all mystery lovers.
Recommended by a relative of Horton Prather's, I really had no idea what this was about, other than "it was really good." Well, she was right. It WAS really good. Really gritty, twisted villains and a mis-matched bunch of good guys who have a few things in common...their Faith and the need to see good overthrow evil. This one is a page-turner. Read it!!
