I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.The intensity behind Travis's emotions were really pivotal to the story to me. He felt everything so very deeply for the women in his life and always tried to do the right thing and the passion in which he did this showed through each and every time. This is what stood out for me and kept my interest cover to cover.

Hooked is a fast paced book, full of drama with both highs and lows it will overtake you with a mix of emotions. This book has it all, Guilt, Lust, Loss, Anger and Love.
Lance has a reputation of being a playboy, but lately something has changed.
He loves to fight and the ring is where his heart is. Fighting to help his parents financially since his mum is very poorly and doesn’t have long left too live and spending time with his friends what more could a guy want???
Hilary comes from money, never having to struggle. Her parents are both loving and supportive off her and she is your typical good girl.
Their story started a long time ago when they were at school together and Hilary was being picked on and Lance took it upon himself to try protect her.
Fast forward a few years…And they come across one another in the club, there is an instant attraction for both of them but they haven’t made the connection that they are known to one another. Lance is not one to shy away from something he wants; things heat up between them until Hilary reveals a shocking truth. Lance puts the breaks on and pushes her away then leaves her all alone. Hilary is strong and independent and decides that Lance is a douche and doesn’t deserve her. They are a couple of occasions where their paths cross again and whilst Lance tries to do the right thing Hilary is less than impressed.
Hilary starts to see Lance in a different light but its too late for them now as she is in a relationship with another fighter…all is not as it seems, this relationship is volatile, abusive and controlling and Hilary wants out but she can't find a way without herself or someone she loves getting hurt.
This book is not so much secret and lies its more truth and confession and working their way to a HEA together, to find out if the accomplish this you will just need to read and find out.
This was my 1st read by this author , having just met her on FB I was excited to read and be able to host a tour for her !! I went back and forth with the rating between 4 and 4.5 for a few reasons. Nothing major , just wish it was longer and a couple of major things could have used some more time but it still flowed well and made for a quick drama filled read !! I will definitely go back and read TKO I enjoyed the other characters and would love to get a glimpse of the female fight aspect !! Back to Lance and Hilary....
So right off the bat we get to know Lance and I will say he is a very emotional guy dealing with a ton of stuff. Having not read book 1 we do not get to see his playboy ways too too bad but we know that is how he has been. His mom is sick and that has been rough on him. He fights for a living and is good at it. Making money to help his parents and enjoying his job and friends. Seeing him in action with Hilary was funny you could tell something was going to happen to fizzle that extreme spark and boy did she get him good !! It left Lance feeling guilty and different than any other time he may have threw himself into a girl. I think he knew as well as the readers that he wasn't going to shake her. He wanted to reach out and do things right but sadly life got in the way and Lance was devastated with loss. As time went on and he saw his chance there was now someone blocking his way and this someone wasn't very nice and Lance knew just who he was and so tensions were high and Lance put some things on the line and it wasn't like him to risk.
Hilary was a normal girl , living at home , going to college and now in the midst of a nasty relationship with a guy she had no desire to be with. She had wanted Lance , she was ready to give him things she had never given before but he was spooked and she ended up with Travis. Hilary is struggling and her story is sad, you can't help but want to get her away from Travis but it isn't as easy as it seems. Some of her choices change her life for good and bad but at one point the choice she makes to save herself will be the best one of all and hopefully everyone will agree.
With Lance and Hilary wrapped up in each other their lives are spinning slightly out of control. Both doing things and feeling things never felt before. With the help of family and friends and some massive strength on both parts we may just get an HEA !!
Story bordered on ridiculous, I mean girl stays in abusive relationships because she was scared. She came from a affluent loving family but she stayed in an abusive relationship. Give me a break.. did not like h. Gave it 3 stars because H was actually a likeable guy.
Whole series soooo good!
I am a woman who loves a tough guy. This is a perfect mix of action and romance. Every woman wants a man that can hold his own against any man who is threatening the things he cares about. Lance is the type of man that I fantasize about!
No character development and instant love. Really hated this book and had a hard time finishing it. Take it from me and save your money
3.5 stars for this one.
I love fighters. They're my kryptonite. My weakness. I love them in all colors and shapes.
But this story was not that amazing. It was nice, but a little bit shallow and predictable at times.
But I enjoyed it, nevertheless.
